The CPP-NPA-NDF is losing its self-proclaimed and illusory ‘people’s war’. The NPA is now decimated and on the retreat as their guerilla fronts are being dismantled one after the other by the incessant focused military operations conducted by the AFP in the countrysides. When they are faced with such crisis situation, the CPP-NPA-NDF automatically sounds their only known and much abused saving bell – The Peace Talks. Joma Sison’s formula in compelling the govt to resume peace talks is ordering the NPA to launch more tactical offensives. He even flaunts of the NPA’s capacity to kill at least one gov’t trooper a day.
Time and again we witness how Peace Talks failed because the CPP-NPA-NDF just used it to buy time for respite, replenish its forces, reorganize and recover their abandoned bases. According to their very own “peace negotiator” Louie Jalandoni, Peace Talk is just part of their arsenal utilized to advance the armed struggle. The past administrations were deceived by the manipulation and duplicity of the CPP-NPA-NDF. They were made to believe that the CPP-NPA-NDF are sincere to the goals of the Peace Talks.
Enough already. PRRD’s stand of No more Peace Talks with the reds and focus on the implementation of EO 7O or the Whole-of-Nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace is the rightful and correct way. The only acceptable terms for ‘Talks’ now with the CPP-NPA-NDF shall be a negotiation for the terms of their surrender, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration, nothing else. If they persist, let them perish. It’s time we stop treating this terrorist group with kid gloves.
