I believe that this new Leni tagline “Gobyernong Tapat, Angat Buhay Lahat”, was drafted by the same Workshop that created PNOY’s tagline, “Kung Walang Corrupt, Walang Mahirap”. There is a patent similarity to both using the causal formula in message crafting. A simplistic cause and effect line, i.e the premise in PNOY’s tagline is that corruption breeds poverty, ergo no corruption no poverty. Leni’s new tagline presents the same cause and effect flow, the poor quality of life is caused by a corrupt government, ergo an honest government will provide abundant life for all. Of course there’s the use of lingua franca and rhyming for added aesthetic and literary value. Well in the grand scheme of an electoral campaign, the value of a slogan lies on the authenticity of the candidate, and real politics is not simply a matter of literary linya-linya lang.
