Happy 40th Anniversary to all my Batchmates, Knights of Sir Galahad Batch 1981, MSU DeMolay Club, Order of DeMolay.
We cherish memories. We remember moments.
40 years ago today, on September 3, 1981, we Knights of Sir Galahad Batch 81 survived our Final initiation after a gruelling yet challenging two months period of petitionership in the Order of DeMolay of MSU DeMolay Club in Mindanao State University, Marawi City campus. Like all brothers who came before us, we strived to earn the honor of becoming a member of the greatest youth organization of the world, the Order of DeMolay. This our shared experience is what binds our mystic tie stronger, after 40 years and beyond.
I am proud of my DeMolay Chapter, the once upon a time University Chapter of Mindanao State University (MSU) in Marawi City. It went in the dark and had gone extinct a long time ago. It now exists only in the hearts of those who took their vows as DeMolays upon its altar, and shared a unique bond of brotherhood experienced only by MSU DeMolays. Surviving MSU Marawi is already an accomplishment, surviving and experiencing DeMolay in MSU Marawi, is a greater feat. I shall not forget.
