My two cents. May iisang format at narrative lang ang lahat ng anti-Marcos literature and films. Iikot ito sa mga kuwento ng injustice at pang-aapi, human rights abuses and violations in various forms, pagkamulat, aktibismo, romanticismo at glorification ng armadong pakikibaka, etc, ad perpetuum. Mga kuwento ng struggles ng buhay na maririnig mo regularly tuwing TKB sessions ng kolektibo ni Karina.
Ang overarching theme ng mga ganitong literary works o sa pelikula ay ang supra historical demonization of the Marcoses and the military, siyempre hahaluan ito ng mga human and love interests, digmang rosas here and there. I anticipate that this film Katips is just another run of the mill anti-Marcos film. Same old, same old ho hum.
Mas gusto ko new perspectives. Yung mga kwentong hindi mo nabasa, narinig o napanood sa mahabang panahon dahil inukit sa isipan mong mangmang na ito’y abomination. Kaya tama na ang Maid In Malacañang is a breath of fresh air. This time mas interesado akong malaman ang kuwento kung anong nangyari sa mga huling sandali ng Pamilya Marcos bago sila lumisan sa palasyo, a story of The Humans of Malacañang. Relax see a movie.
